Spectacular selection of paintings and works of art in this Russian Art sale, the majority of which were offered from private collections, including Aristarkh Lentulov’s vibrant Cubo-Futurist Landscape with bridge, Kislovodsk and a rare and important pair of porcelain vases by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, Period of Nicholas I. The catalogue also features major paintings from such Russian masters as Roerich, Vereshchagin, Gorbatov, Golovin and Burliuk in addition to significant pieces by Fabergé and an important group of rare Russian Silver. With over 300 lots ranging from £1,000 to £1,500,000, this sale presented one of the finest assemblages of Russian Art at auction in recent history.

Saudi-born Dr Walid Juffali (1955-2016) made an indelible mark on the global stage. From one of the wealthiest business families in Saudi Arabia, he was educated at Le Rosey in Switzerland, the US – at the University of San Diego – and then, after settling in London, he received a doctorate in neuroscience at Imperial College, London. From 2005, Juffali was chairman of his family’s company, E.A. Juffali Brothers, one of the largest companies in Saudi Arabia for telecommunications, infrastructure and insurance. Juffali’s personal fortune was considered to be $8 billion.

The collection of paintings, antiques, sculptures and objets d’art belonging to the late Walid Juffali, the Saudi billionaire at Bishopsgate House, his estate in Surrey, UK. The sale comprised of over 400 lots.
